Review Snippets

  • Hmm... this Steinway is also very nice. For Secret Base, the Yamaha sounds a bit better. For the Variations on a Theme piece, some high notes are on the right side, which I like, others were on the left side, which I still don't like. This is a harder comparison to make, but I think I like this pian
  • The Synchron player's mic mixer and diverse mic positions are highly appreciated.
  • The D-274 seems to be an ugly duckling, with an almost universal preference for the two sampled Bosendorfers or, alternatively, the quite distinctive Bluethner.
  • Hi, I share my VSL D-274 best settings, because the default VSL D-274 presets have some velocity and dynamics errors compared to a real Steinway D.
  • As for the key settings, with the Stenway D you have the possibility to change and modify every single key...I find myself much better with the Vienna Symponich Stenway D, but of course that's personal taste.
  • I think Synchron pianos and Kawai pianos have their own charm. For recording I'd definitely prefer Synchron because it's much easier too edit, store and adjust.
  • I spent all my time with the D-274, so this was perfect in helping me confirm my decision to go with the VSL Steinway.
  • I personally prefer the D274, but I think the fixed CFX could work for slower, more emotional arrangements. The sound's a bit louder in my right ear though maybe that's just me.
  • The Synchron Concert D-274 offers an overwhelming amount of features.
  • I've demoed or own all of the VSL Synchron Pianos, and their authenticity is ... I own VSL CFX, D274 and the F-308 and I just need to adjust the...
  • I have never heard the Concert D-274 sound so well and balanced. I don't really hear any synthy on the cello either as suggested by @Zaleskee in another comment here. I think it would go a long long way for sales if you guys would produce videos on how to get your library to sound like your demos. O
  • On the Synchron D274 I find there are some VERY bad overtones present around keys D2. According to VSL these tones were actually present on the original Steinway when sampled - mmmmmm This actually spoils this particular piano.
  • They all have their good qualities. The Bosendorfer is warm with rich bass while the 280VC is sparkly with an aggressive attack, and finally, the Concert D has nice timbre dynamics from PP-FF. I like the overall tone of the Bosendorfer Imperial better, but I prefer the playability and expressiveness
  • The Synchron Concert D-274 offers an overwhelming amount of features.
  • I was very hopeful for this solo strings from VSL, DUA rose the bar incredibly high, that had me thinking everything after that would be of the same or even better in sound quality. I had both the Solo Violin and the Solo Cello for some day now and I am not happy. I am really looking forward to any
