Pianoteq Petrof 284 Mistral & ANT. Petrof 275 vs Pianoteq Grotrian Concert Royal
The fundamental distinction between these two Pianoteq offerings lies in their source instruments: the Petrof Pack provides two distinct Petrof grand pianos (284 Mistral and ANT. Petrof 275), while the Grotrian Concert Royal focuses on a single Grotrian-Steinweg Concert Royal. Both utilize physical modeling for their sound engine, offering dynamic and evolving sound generation.
Sonically, the Petrof pack is characterized by a rich, soft, and romantic tone, embodying the specific characteristics of those two Petrof models. In contrast, the Grotrian Concert Royal aims to capture the essence of a 277 cm (9'1") German grand piano, offering specific features like felt presets and a Celeste Pedal for fine-tuning the felt thickness. The Petrof pack includes 35 presets, while the Grotrian offers 12 presets, reflecting their respective scope.
Choose the Petrof Instrument Pack if you seek the distinct, romantic characteristics of two iconic Petrof grand pianos for classical or film scoring applications. Opt for the Grotrian Concert Royal if your preference is for a singular, detailed representation of a large German grand piano, with specific control over felt mechanics, suitable for classical and jazz.
